2. What Data We Collect and Why

Contact and booking inquiries

When you contact us via the contact form, email or WhatsApp, we collect your name, email address, phone number and any message content you provide. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry and manage your booking. Legal basis: legitimate interest / execution of a pre-contractual relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Newsletter, lead magnet and Anno Tanaro project list

If you subscribe to our newsletter, request a free guide (lead magnet), or join the Anno Tanaro project mailing list, we collect your name and email address via the subscription form on this website. Your data is stored in our email marketing platform (Brevo / Sendinblue, a French company operating under GDPR). We use this data to send you the requested material and, with your consent, periodic updates about lessons, exhibitions, the Anno Tanaro project and art tips. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Website analytics and tracking

This website uses the following analytics and tracking technologies, all subject to your consent via our cookie banner (managed by Complianz):

• Google Analytics 4 (G-0FQBDXBLLB) — Google’s analytics platform. Sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to measure page views, sessions, traffic sources and user behaviour in aggregate. Data is processed by Google Ireland Limited and may be transferred to the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Used for understanding which pages and content resonate with visitors.
• Google Analytics Measurement Protocol — when you scan a QR code linked to one of our exhibition cards (e.g. at La Fabbrica del Cotone in Garessio), our server sends a qr_scan event to Google Analytics with the cartellino identifier (A–I). This event is sent server-side and uses your existing _ga cookie value as the client identifier; if no _ga cookie is set, a random anonymous identifier is generated. No personally identifying information is sent. The purpose is to measure which artworks attract attention from physical visitors.
• Meta Pixel (2363316097266044) — Facebook/Meta’s tracking pixel. Used for ad attribution and audience building if we run Meta advertising campaigns. Fires events such as PageView, ViewContent, Lead (on contact/WhatsApp click), and Contact. Data is processed by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.
• Google Tag Manager (GT-PBCTXTQ) — Google’s tag management container.

You can refuse all analytics and advertising cookies via our cookie banner. Refusing them does not affect your ability to use the website.

Google Maps and Google Places API

• We embed Google Maps on our location pages (studio + La Fabbrica del Cotone). Google may set cookies and collect usage data when the map loads.
• We use the Google Places API to display real Google Reviews of our studio on this website. The API call is server-side; no personal data of website visitors is sent to Google through this widget.

Embedded interactive tools

The page /paint-tool/ contains a fork of the open-source WebGL fluid simulation by David Li (MIT-licensed, see github.com/dli/paint). The tool runs entirely in your browser and does not collect or transmit any data. Site analytics (above) still apply to the containing page.

WhatsApp business chats

Clicking any WhatsApp button on this website opens a chat with us via the WhatsApp app or web client. Once the chat opens, your message is handled by WhatsApp Inc. and subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. We use WhatsApp Business for booking and customer support.

Comments

If you leave a comment on our blog, we collect the data shown in the comment form (name, email, website) and your IP address to help with spam detection (via Akismet). Approved comments and your profile picture (via Gravatar, if used) are publicly visible.

3. How Long We Keep Your Data

• Contact inquiries: retained for up to 2 years from last contact, then deleted.
• Newsletter subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
• Booking records: retained for up to 5 years for administrative and legal purposes (Italian civil law requirements).
• Analytics data (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel): retained according to the platform’s default settings (14 months for GA4 event data unless changed; Meta defaults apply for Pixel).
• Comments: retained indefinitely unless you request deletion.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party service providers, strictly as needed to operate our services:

• Brevo (Sendinblue) — email marketing platform (France, EU GDPR-compliant). Privacy
• Hostinger — web hosting provider for keilimajorartist.com (EU data centres). Privacy
• Google (Google Ireland Limited) — Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Maps embed, Google Places API. Privacy

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

6. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Access to personal data is limited to Keili Major Artist and authorised technical service providers (web hosting, email platform).

7. International Transfers

Your data is stored on servers within the EU (Hostinger EU data centres). Email marketing is handled by Brevo within the EU. Some analytics and advertising data (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) may be transferred to the United States under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Children’s Privacy

We offer art lessons to children aged 6 and above, with parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 16 without explicit parental consent.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Material changes (new third-party services, changes in data use) will be announced via our newsletter and a banner on the website.
