Protea African native Flower

Visiting and living in Western Australia was a great experience. It opened for me the world to the native Flowers. Some locals and some imported. Protea, imported, I loved the most. Its royal and fine elegance touched me the most.

While painting it I was delighted to put most attention on the blossom. Building it up from the centre to outside, going layer by layer. Creating on canvas regal flora.

I did focus a lot on details, mostly for those seemly closer for an eye. Also, I created an illusion of distanced background to convey the depth. I brought in some very bright colours. Hoping to create alertness and brightness at your home.
